Are the SY pushers union?īasically, I agree with the Little Bird, that many additions to Temple Complexes are not worth the money. Bugs me, because the dockers can carry 4 blocks. With stone mines, a 'getting' yard can only get 1 block, so you can't clear your mining area Sy fast enough. Then put up enough 'getting' yards so that you can clear the mine area SY fast enough. Put your accepting SY close enough to the mines so that your furthest mine's cart pusher can make the round trip fast enough.
This means you can put your 'accepting' SY close enough to the mines so that you can take advantage of the quicker production time. With gem and copper, a 'getting' SY can pick up 400 at a time with each cart pusher (making 800 a trip). Works better for gem mining and copper than for stone. The mine is often at 100% before the cart pusher returns, so the altar would mean that your mine hit 100% sooner and then it would wait longer for the cart pusher. a gold mine far from water for your palace. It makes no sense on maps with long delivery times, i.e. The altar of Amon in the Ptah complex is of limited usefulness even if you are mining. Seth if I know its going to be a lot of fighting, and Ra if I have been drinking heavily. Ptah depends on whether I am mining, as that is usually very limited. So the only ones that I always build given the chance are Bast and Osiris. But it looks to me like the TC might actually double the effectiveness of your patron gods temples and shrines, and in that case, it would always be nice. Now this assumes that the TC counts as an overgrown temple. Oracle - Weak versions of policemen for a huge cost.Maybe if you are importing linen and playing on Hard, but other than that, spend your money on more linen production. Or maybe it isn't retroactive? Meaning you should build a TC before your fort? Not if I need the fort. Seth - Extra experience? I didn't notice.Oracle - The money spent on the TC represents the entire wages for a thousand workers?.Altar - Compared to the price of a police station? Or an extra courthouse?.Why don't you just import luxury goods into a SY without architect coverage? Ra - IMO, building a Ra TC is another way of saying you have too darned much money. On Hard, it is definitely worth the money if you have a prosperity requirement that forces scribal schools. Oracle - On Normal, doubtful that it is worth it, unless you are importing papyrus.Altar - Maybe if you are running out of space for new quarries. If not, just build another 1-2 resource buildings. Ptah - A no-brainer, if you are mining. In most cases you can just build another resource building. Oracle - Not convinced its worth the money.Altar - IMO, this makes the whole TC worthwhile building, especially if you have to import the finished goods for your populace.Osiris - Pretty good deal, if you are doing floodplain farming.Altar - Probably worth it on Hard, probably not on Normal unless you are facing health problems.Of course, even if just for the increased chance of blessings. I believe at one time or another I have built all the temple complexes.
